The ML7033 is a 2-channel multifunction PCM codec LSI compliant with ITU-T G.714 standards that was developed for subscriber line terminal circuits incorporating SLIC LSIs such as ISDN terminal adapters and office exchangers. This LSI incorporates a wide range of functions specifically tailored for applications such as programmable tone generators, debounce timers, and timeslot assignment functions to facilitate system design and to allow configuration of subscriber line terminal circuits with fewer external components. Since the specifications of this LSI were developed in collaboration with Intersil (USA), SLIC control is possible via this LSI when it is used together with the Intersil RSLICTM series (such as HC55185), allowing further simplification of system design. The expanding demand for high-speed digital communication with the spread of the Internet has led to the installation of digital line terminal equipment such as ADSL modems and ISDN terminal adapters in homes and offices. These applications require cost-competitive SLIC-supporting PCM codecs with fewer channels and external components. This LSI can satisfy such market requirements. This LSI has a wide range of application-specific functions to simplify firmware design on the system side and to enable configuration of subscriber lines with fewer external components, making the LSI best suited for SLIC-integrated device applications such as terminal adapters, ADSL modems and VoIP and VoBB gateways.
This is an evaluation board for the 2-channel multifunction PCM codec ML7033. This board incorporates the ML7033 and HC55185X (Intersil SLIC) to facilitate system evaluation. The ML7033 evaluation board software allows access to all registers of the ML7033 and the HC55815X. The register data set can be saved in an on-board Flash ROM.
